Precision High Speed Progressive Metal Stamping of Strip Contacts

At G & R Manufacturing we leverage our decades of metal stamping experience and advanced equipment to handle our client's most difficult and complex production parameters. A customer in the telecommunications industry hired us to manufacture the strip contact shown here. To manufacture this micro miniature eyelet required precise tooling and extremely small diameter draw punches. Our specialized skills and state of the art machinery was utilized to effectively produce the intricate strip, manipulating 0.005" thick 260 brass with a high speed stamping process. The ultra-tight tolerance of ±.0005" was met during production. Individual eyelets measure .05" in length by .02" in width, weighing .00002 lbs. alone, .0001 lbs. on the carrier strip. The eyelet is finished with a 1.27 Um nickel plating, followed by a .0127 Um layer of gold flash. Plating material minimums were consistent with TE Connectivity specification 112-162-5 and 112-25-2.

Lead times for this production are 4 to 6 weeks, and we provide high speed high volume production at a rate of 15,000,000 to 20,000,000 units per order.
